Beach Glass
Glass and driftwood are both shaped by elemental forces — one by fire and breath, the other by water and time. Growing up in the Puget Sound area, I was surrounded by Scandinavian culture, which has deeply influenced me and my art. My work is where wabi-sabi meets Nordic minimalism: I let the raw, asymmetrical forms of driftwood dictate the shape and placement of the glass, rather than forcing symmetry. The glass appears to naturally grow out of the wood.
